Base Knowledge
It will be desirable for students to know the concept of a mathematical function, as well as some examples of mathematical functions.
Teaching Methodologies
This curricular unit will have a frequency regime that consists of 1 weekly theoretical and practical class of 2 hours.
The expository methodology will be used for the presentation of the concepts of the curricular unit, supported by practical experimentation through the accomplishment of exercises of application of the transmitted concepts, in the computers. Practical experimentation will seek to approach, whenever possible, the situations that students will encounter in their professional lives. In addition to the classes, students must develop complementary work, which will be indicated throughout the course.
Attendance to classes is not mandatory but is recommended.
Learning Results
This curricular unit aims to provide students with instrumental and conceptual skills in the field of spreadsheets that are particularly useful in the context of other curricular units, as well as in the subsequent effective and efficient exercise of their professional activity.
As specific objectives of this curricular unit, it is intended that students have a basic understanding of technologies and management information systems and the role they play in organizations, that they are able to use spreadsheets in solving problems, in dealing with data, creating reports, and exposing conclusions.
At the end of the course, students should have developed the ability to solve problems using spreadsheet applications, using advanced features of these tools.
