Teaching Methodologies
The use of an expository methodology to teach the theoretical foundations of the discipline, complemented with the analysis of practical cases in the light of the exposed concepts, invites students to be actively involved in their learning process. The laboratory practice component will allow the development of skills in planning and producing digital journalistic content. Continuous assessment includes: a written test (30% of the grade), works throughout the semester (10% of the grade) and a multimedia report, executed mainly in class (60% of the grade). Assessment by exam includes a written test (40% of the grade) and the execution of a large multimedia report (60% of the grade).
All assessment types and components have a minimum grade of 7.5. If not achieved, the final designation is NRC.
Learning Results
At the end of the semester, students are expected to:
-understand the emergence and evolution of the digitization process;
-critically reflect on the technological, economic, professional and social dimensions of digital journalism;
-be able to deal with the reconfiguration of the field of journalism, its actors and its production routines;
-develop skills in planning and executing digital journalism.
