Teaching Methodologies
The adopted teaching methodology is based on the study of real cases and landmark court decisions, which allow students the direct knowledge of real problems that have arisen in activities related to the syllabus. The analysis and resolution of practical cases will allow the student to understand the content and scope of the various laws at stake and to fully resolving the problems raised.
Learning Results
(a) to understand the impact of digital technology and of the Internet of Things on individuals and consumers, especially on the right to privacy and on the right to informational self-determination; (b) to know and to aplly the rules foreseen in the General Data Protection Regulation;
(c) to understand the current importance of e-commerce and knows the principles and rules governing e-commerceactivity and the specificities of online contracting;
(d) to know and to apply the principles and rules protecting online business, including the protection derived fromintellectual property law and regulations (e.g. copyright, patents, utility models, topography of semiconductor products, domain names, etc.)
Program
Legal issues related to the Internet of Things (IoT):
1) The clash between IoT and personality rights and consumers’ right to privacy; analysis of the General DataProtection Regulation;
2) Online contracts;
3) Intellectual property rights: rights, limits and enforcement.
