Teaching Methodologies
The following teaching methodologies are used in this curricular unit: 1) Verbal methods (say), making use of the following educational resources: Exposition, Explanation and Dialogue; 2) Intuitive Methodologies (show), making use of the following educational resources: Demo, Audiovisual Texts and Writings; 3) Active methodologies (do), making use of the following educational resources: Group Work.
Learning Results
It is expected that at the end of the course each student has a right to: a) Mastering the functions of currency and monetary instruments of their evolution, as well as the functioning of financial markets, financial assets and their characteristics, b) Knowing the diversity of financial institutions. c) Understand the transactions between central banks and other institutions of the banking system, with special emphasis on the operation of the Eurosystem. d) dominate models of money demand and the causal relationship between money, output and inflation. e) Understand theories about exchange rates and description of exchange rate regimes, as well as the approach to monetary integration whose centerpiece is the euro area.
