Base Knowledge
It is recommended that the student has completed level A1 or has successfully finished subjects German I and II.
Teaching Methodologies
Several methodologies will be put to use, such as games, spontaneous activities to speak and write, role-play situations, presentations, in-class discussions, among others.
Learning Results
In this semester students should improve on their language skills and enlarge the subjects about which they can talk and/or write.
Among other skills, students should be able to: invite, plan small events, understand and answer to ads, have complex conversations on the phone, ask for information at a hospital, stores or a bank, have conversations with healthcare professionals.
Program
Every class will be taught in German. Portuguese or English may be spoken to clarify any questions/tasks.
German III corresponds to the first half of the A2 level. By the end of German IV students will have completed A2.

Understanding and writing a language learning biography
Understanding, creating and presenting short portraits
Description of location and neighborhood
Describing houses and apartments
Describe your own neighborhood
Make structured notes on apartment ads
Write apartment/room advertisement
Follow a conversation with the landlord when viewing an apartment
Understand advertising brochures
Take information from announcements in shopping centers
Follow and conduct counseling interview
Follow interviews about educational paths
Present own educational path and create course statistics
Extract information from a text and diagram about the school system in Germany
Compare the school system in your home country and Germany
Grammar:
Perfect tense: regular, irregular, mixed verbs (repetition)
Präteritum: haben, sein (repetition) and modal verbs
Perfekt with haben and sein (repetition)
Adjective declension
Dative and verbs with dative suffix (repetition)
Verbs with dative and accusative affixes
