Teaching Methodologies

Expositive methodology with problem-solving.
Written individual SWOT work analysis of a project or program Health, Sports and Leisure (maximum – 15 points). Individual oral assessment knowledge 10-15 minutes (maximum – 5 points).

Learning Results

With the frequency of this course it is intended that students are able to:
1. Define and relate the concepts of health, sport, leisure, recreation and quality of life
2. Explain the concepts of physical activity, exercise and physical fitness
3. Justify the role of physical activity and leisure in health promotion
4. Identify and discuss the main recommendations of physical activity for different populations.
5. Identify and analyze intervention programs in health education for sport and leisure
6. Identify good pedagogical practices of intervention in educational contexts and leisure and recreation associated with health education programs with physical activities and sports

1. Concepts: health, sport, physical activity, leisure, recreation, exercise, physical fitness and quality of life.
2. Physical activity, exercise and physical fitness: components and methods of analysis and assessment.
3. Physical activity recommendations for different populations.
4. Health promotion programs: Physical Activity for Seniors, play and early motor development, children’s sports, sports for disabled, sports for all, sports for specific populations, school sports.
5. Sport pedagogy, leisure and recreation: educational intervention strategies.
