Teaching Methodologies

Teaching methodologies promoting autonomy in the study and integration of theoretical
and practical knowledge. The bibliographic materials and sources are presented in
lectures and dialogues. The students elaborate works related to the application of the
theoretical subjects to the professional intervention.
The approval in the course unit can be obtained by frequency evaluation and / or
examination evaluation.
The frequency assessment (200 points) includes:
1) Written test – 80 p. (Minimum classification of 40p.)
2) Motor performance – 100 p. (Minimum rating 40 p.)
3) Participation in class – 10 p.
5) Participation in complementary activities – 10 p.
Assessment by examination:

1) Access to the exam is reserved for students who obtain at least 40 points in theoreticalpractical assignments during the frequency assessment.
2) The exam consists of written test and oral test, compulsory for students who in the
written test are rated between 7.5 and 9.4 values.

Learning Results

1.To promote the acquisition of knowledge about the specificities of the tennis modality regarding its origin and historical development, current institutional framework, rules of the game, spaces and paraphernalia suitable for leisure and competitive contexts. 2. Promote the acquisition of knowledge and skills in the execution of technical gestures, dynamics and tactics of play in the singular and peer versions. Know how to identify the physical qualities associated with the tennis game and the physical preparation of the practitioner. 3. To promote the acquisition of theoretical knowledge and practical skills related to the teaching of tennis. Know and know how to organize teaching by phases appropriate to the age and abilities of the practitioners. 4. Promote the acquisition of knowledge about the preparation of tennis training session plans and develop competencies on the orientation of training.

Program

1. Characterization of the sport of tennis in the context of sports.
2. Historical and institutional framework. Game rules, spaces and accoutrements.
3. Technical gestures, dynamics and game tactics in singles and pairs versions.
4. Physical preparation for the game of tennis based on the knowledge of the exercise
physiology and methodology of the sports training.
5. Pedagogy and didactics of tennis. Phases of progression of the teaching of technical
gestures and tactical behaviors in tennis.

6. Exercises for learning and training. Loads of training associated with training exercises.

7. Planning and orientation of tennis training sessions. Models of training plans.
