Base Knowledge
Knowledge of the 1st year Curricular Units.
Teaching Methodologies
The course is based on the experimental method, where students actively explore and develop their skills in managing a project of considerable size.
Each group includes several students who interact in the various phases and procedures in a group dynamic, being autonomous and responsible in decision-making, under the guidance of the teacher.
Learning Results
After attending this course, it is expected that each student knows how to
- Plan and develop, in team, technological solutions for medium/large problems using computer systems and taking into account ethical, deontological and legislation applied to professional activity
- Develop a work plan, ensuring necessary resources and precedence between tasks, adapting to the possible evolution of requirements and evolution of technologies
- Control the evolution of a project, managing resources, priorities, conflicts and motivation of the elements of the work group
- Document and present the work developed, as well as prepare a detailed budget for the proposed solutions
Program
The CU synthesises a set of knowledge and techniques learned in the others CU.
Students will be distributed into work groups and will have to develop a solution to a medium/large complexity problem.
The pedagogical practice intends to systematize the learning obtained during other CUs through a larger work in order to systematize the work planning practices.
To train students to develop the project in teams and develop skills associated with communication and conflict management, including technical reports and presentation of work.
Since the development of the project consists of a process that takes place during a semester, the students must control the evolution of the project, preparing reports on its evolution.
