The course is organized in theoretical-practical classes that correspond to a first theoretical part and a second part with practical application exercises, field classes, discussion or presentation of themes.

Learning Results

As a learning outcome students will be able to:

1) Recognise the components of forest ecosystems and have a generic idea about their functioning

2) Know the technical terms and fundamental concepts for describing and understanding forests and forest activity

3) knows the main forest resources in Portugal and in the world and appreciates the diversity of uses, goods and services associated to them

3) Get in touch with relevant issues in the various fields of forest sciences and natural resources, recognizing the context in which they arise and develop and the professional knowledge required to address them

4) Be familiar with career opportunities or professional paths
