Teaching Methodologies

Exemplification of the techniques by the teacher. Promotion of individual work. The evaluation is continuous in wich is observed the development of technics and interpretative qualities at the keybord, through: body posture; arm, hand and wrist; finger articulation; thumb passage; and equality and independence.
The ponderations of the program are: a) M and m scales and arpeggios, in A, E and B (4 values); b) one étude (4 values); c) one piece (6 values); d) one sonatina movement (6 values).
Exame: Piece with a higher difficulty level (20 values).

Learning Results

Managing keybord basic technics has been a structural point in musical leraning process and its multiple subjects. The awearness of such technics and keybord repertoir will improve the knoledge in subjects such as the History and Analysis of music, Harmony and Composition and even the areas most linked to the understanding of music as a physical phenomenon. Therefore, and because the studie of keybord practice is not generelized in the candidates of the degree in Applied Musical Studies, it’s important to give this students and future professionals keybord skills, the reading in two staves, and the musical interpretation of piano short pieces

Program

Technic – Execute basic exercises to develop strenght, independence and agility. -Play major and minor scales and harpeggios (A, E, B) in 4 octaves. – reading and interpretation -Interpretation of repertoire to develop two part reading with one or two clefs (G and F). -Use articulation technics: legato and staccato in order to improve the piano tone and color.
