Organizational Communication

Teaching Methodologies

The curricular unit will be taught using:
i) expository theoretical sessions,
ii) theoretical-practical sessions to monitor group work,
iii) analysis and debate of successful cases with the active participation of students.

Continuous evaluation:
– 1 individual written test (50%)
– 1 practical group work, to be presented in a classroom context, on point 3 of the program (50%)
Exam assessment (according to academic regulation)
– 1 individual written exam (100%)

Learning Results

Knowledge:
– Define organizational communication and how it contributes to the success of organizations
– Know how the different areas of organizational communication work, their objectives and tools
– Know the contributions that the different areas of organizational communication can have in achieving the sustainable development goals, and in the paradigm of sustainability in general
– Know the challenges of communication in contemporary times, through the help of cutting-edge cases
Skills:
– Have a critical spirit about the role of communication and its professionals in the organizational context
– Organization of thinking about communication contributions and its different domains in the paradigm of sustainability
Competences:
– Distinguish different areas of the performance of communication of and in organizations
– Summon the correct communication tools according to organizational objectives
– Identify success cases that can guide sustainable communication projects formulation.
