Pharmacotherapeutic Follow-up in Special Groups

Base Knowledge

Basic knowledge mainly in the field of pharmacology and pharmacotherapy.

Teaching Methodologies

The programmatic contents will be exposed in the theoretical program, using computer and audiovisual means, namely PowerPoint.

Theoretical-practical classes will present concepts and methodologies in the field of pharmacotherapeutic follow-up of patients with resolution of practical cases in groups and further discussion.

Learning Results

Promote knowledge about the risks of using drugs in special groups of the population;

Know the pathophysiological changes caused by renal and liver failure;

Integrate the concepts learned to critically analyze pharmacotherapeutic plans;

Provide knowledge to exercise the function of guiding patients;

Train students to provide technical information about the pathology and the correct use of the appropriate medication.

Acquire the essential concepts and understand the pharmacotherapeutic follow-up methodologies for patients;

To become aware of communication strategies between the different stakeholders;

Know the sources of information to support PRM and RNM.

At the end of this course it is intended that students are able to put into practice the rational use of medicines, assessing the benefit / risk ratio of using medicines in special groups of the population and in some pathologies. It is also intended that they acquire skills to provide support and information to patients who belong to special groups.
