Base Knowledge
- Basic electricity and electrotechnics;
- Mathematics (Fourier series and transforms, statistics);
- Introduction to communication networks (OSI model, IP addressing, Cisco CLI).
Teaching Methodologies
Presentation and discussion of contents in theoretical classes. Resolution of exercises and experimental work both in theoretical and practical classes. Stimulus on communication skills, autonomous learning and teamwork by the way of a study on a given communication technology and a structured cabling project.
Learning Results
This course addresses the aspects related with the infrastructure of local area networks. It is expected that students develop skills on planning, designing, scaling and deploying structured cabling networks accordingly with the ISO and IEEE standards.
