Teaching Methodologies
In this course, there will be basically two methodological frameworks: exposure of contents with demonstration/ illustration and resolution of exercises in which students will have the opportunity to apply their knowledge. The assessment will be done through the completion of 1. a summative test quoted for 14 points, 2. one exercise of visual analysis quoted for 5 points
Learning Results
1. Understand the theoretical approaches (coming from psychology, neuroscience, sociology, semiology / semiotics, history, psychoanalysis, theories of communication and media) that explain our relationship with images / 2. Understand the role of images in the system of social production and reproduction. / 3. Analyse the ways of conceptualizing the world and of cognitive development operated by images/ 4. Value and appreciatte critically the mutations occurring in the images and look over the years, with particular focus on the post-photographic era, implemented by digital technology./ 5. Recognize the topological, stylistic and rhetorical rules that are used in pictures/ 6. Recognize the functional areas of developing images and of jobs linked to them. / 7. Apply some notions of proxemic communication to art, advertising and propaganda pictures
