Teaching Methodologies

The students will have access to materials prepared by the teacher and bibliography for exploration in the classroom or in autonomous work. Throughout the classes, emphasis is placed on student-centered teaching and research that the student will be invited to undertake. Combining several approaches such as: explanation of subjects, critical discussion of texts presented, analysis and correction of deviations from Portuguese, use of information and communication technologies (ICT) and the accomplishment of tasks in groups or individually for practical realization of oral activities.

Learning Results

1. Distinguish characteristics and marks of oral communication and its relation with written communication. 2. Interpret oral statements of different typologies. 3. Control the placement of voice. 4. Characterize the main oral expression techniques (typology and functions). 5. Apply techniques and strategies of oral expression with correction. 6. Develop oral comprehension and expression strategies applied to professional contexts. 7. Identify, analyze and correct errors and difficulties in orality.

Program

1. Oral and written: general components and distinctive features. 2. Context of situation and levels of language. 3. Physical expression of the oral: the voice. 4. Communication and oral expression techniques. 5. The strategies of comprehension and oral expression applied to the professional contexts. 6. Analysis of frequent linguistic errors: in the mass media and in the orality of everyday life.
