Teaching Methodologies

The first part of the class will tend to be more theoretical, exposing the subject to teach, however, the various legal frameworks will be analyzed in reflection with the students. The course also promotes moments of contact with specialists of the themes under study. In this way, students will be called to actively participate in the classes making the theoretical-practical discipline.

According to the Continuous Assessment Scheme, the knowledge assessment process will consist of:

I. Individual contribution in classes (50%)

II. Practical group work (s), to be presented in class and in writing, based on proposed topics (50% of final grade)

According to the Final Exam Assessment Scheme, students must enroll in this modality following the rules set by ESEC for this purpose.

Learning Results

The syllabus of the course Communication Law in the Digital Age is organized into three blocks of knowledge: (1) Communication and Fundamental Rights; (2) Democracy, Media & Journalism; (3) The Rights of the Person in WEB time.

The student should understand and critically analyze the basic legal issues (the recognition of the human condition and the rights and duties constitutionally consecrated to the citizens), in order to assimilate the importance of these norms in trades whose political and techno-economic dimension is of special importance with responsibilities in improving public life.

The study of current legislation on specific media and new international and national platforms for the dissemination of information implies understanding and applying the scope of its significance in contemporary societies.
