Teaching Methodologies

We intend that students may identify, know understand and relate facts and historical context with sign languages in general and Portuguese Sign Language. Teaching methods will consist mainy on exposition, reflexion and discussion of primary sources. Continuos assessment: One essay (40%) and one written and signed test (60%) Final evaluation: written and signed test (100%).

To know Historical documenta related with sign languages or gestural systems
Understand historical PSL etymological roots
Identify swedish sign language and other contact languages influences in PSL
Understand sincronic and diachronic variation in PSL
