Learning Results

The aim is to study Information Systems (IS) in their basic characteristics and different frameworks in the real
world of organizations, with the following objectives:
• Define the basic concepts of an Information System.
• Recognize the technologies used in Information Systems.
• Understand the difference between information, information systems and information technologies that
support them.
• Assess the key role that technology and information systems play in organizations from the point of view, but
also and mainly as a powerful aid in business strategy;
• Acquiring sensitivity to the organizational aspects involved in introducing new systems and information
technologies and their impact on organizations;
• Know the methods of developing information systems;
• Know the Decision Support Systems (Business Intelligence).
