Management of Natural Resources

This curricular unit is organized in lectures (60 h), tutorials (9) and autonomous work (90 h) in a total of 159 h of
work that correspond to 6 ECTS.

Virtually all problems in natural resource management involve decisions: choices that must be made among
alternative actions to achieve objectives. This UC is intended for students in the fields of natural resource
management who will be confronted with complex and difficult decision making problems. In the end of the course
the students will be able to: (1) structure a complex decision problem; 2) Integrate information coming from
different sources and disciplines in a common framework; (3) use different methods and tools to structure
decisions with an explicit spatial dimension, involving several objectives and different stakeholders; (4) discuss
several case studies.
