Base Knowledge

Knowledge acquired in the 1st year Curricular Units, Agriculture and Animal Science I and II.

Teaching Methodologies

In order to achieve the objectives of the curricular unit and the conference of competences foreseen for students, the process of teaching learning is based on:
1. Lectures;
2. Practical classes in workshops and in the field;
3. Conducting tests;
4. Practical classes of AutoCAD software;
5. Elaboration of a rural construction project.

Learning Results

1. Understands the operation of any agricultural equipment.
2. Evaluates the suitability of different types of engines and agro-livestock equipment for specific uses.
3. Determines the working capacity of the tractor-equipment assembly.
4. Selects the most suitable set for machining a certain operation, within the established quality and environmental protection standards.
5. Knows the general norms for the elaboration of projects of rural facilities and their legislation;
6. Identifies the determining factors in the location, implementation and orientation of a rural construction;
7. Perform calculations for lighting, environmental conditioning of premises and budgeting;
8. Know the different materials and construction techniques used;
9. Conducts surveys of buildings and elaborates plans, elevations and cuts;
10. Develops a rural construction project using AutoCAD software.

– Study of engines used in agriculture.
2 – Studies of the main agricultural and livestock equipment.
3 – General rules for the preparation of rural facilities projects.
4 – Dimensioning of lighting, ventilation and environmental conditioning of rural facilities.
