Learning Results

a) To study the basic processes of social influence involved in the formation of groups and working teams and analyze its impact on the formation of values, norms, beliefs, attitudes and actions;
b) To understand the group processes and group dynamics in organizational context;
c) To learn how to work and develop groups in training and managing settings;
d) Knowing how to manage organizational, group and interpersonal communication processes.

I. Introduction to Experimental Social Psychology of Groups:
1.1. Social Psychology subject of study;
1.2. Chronology of the most important moments, relevant authors and the most significant conceptual currents;
II. The Social Influence Processes and Groups Formation:
2.1. Musafer Sherif studies on social norms;

2.2. Solomon Asch conformity studies;

2.3. Kurt Lewin and the “changing eating habits” in group context;

2.4. The work of Stanley Milgram on the mechanisms of “submission to authority”;

2.5. The work of Serge Moscovici on the active influence of minorities;
III. Groups and Working Teams:
3.1. The concepts of group and working team;
3.2. Synthesis of theoretical models and research findings in the study of groups and working teams: types, structure, rules, tasks, identity, communication, cohesion, conflict, cooperation, productivity, pressure for conformity
