Teaching Methodologies

The training is oriented towards the integration of theoretical knowledge (T) with practical know-how (P), present in almost all classes (TP). Students develop various activities and works that simulate situations of professional intervention.
This uc is exclusively continuous/frequency assessment that includes the following elements:
Element 1 (40%) – Theoretical-practical work (40 to 80 points);
Element 2 (40%) – Written tests (40 to 80 points);
Element 3 (20%) – Classroom participation.
The classification is obtained by the sum of the results in the 3 elements, but negative classifications in the elements 1 or 2 (less than 40 points) count zero (0) points in the sum of the 3 elements.
The appeal exam has as a condition of admission the achievement of a minimum of 40 points in element 1, and will consist of a theoretical test (100 points) and a practical test (100 points). To pass, students will have to obtain at least 50 points in each of the tests.

Learning Results

1. Know fundamental concepts and components of Sports Training and Sports Preparation.
2. Know the general methods of sports training.
3. Know the specific training methods of each of the components of sports training.
4. Know and apply concepts, theories and planning models related to: individual sports careers, macrocycles, mesocycles and training microcycles.
5. Know how to adapt macrocycles, mesocycles, microcycles and sports training sessions to different ages and levels of training and sports performance.
6. Know specifics of the training methodology in individual sports.
7. Know the specificities of the training methodology in team sports.

1. Concepts of training, sports training and sports preparation. Concept of “total sports training” and its components.
2. Historical context on the “Theory and Methodology of Sports Training”.
3. General training methods.
4. Physical preparation in collective and individual sports: specific training methods for each of the physical-motor skills and sub-capacities.
5. Technical preparation in team sports and individual sports: specific objectives and methodologies.
6. Tactical preparation in team sports and individual sports: specific objectives and methodologies.
7. Planning and periodization in training in team sports and individual sports.Preparation of plans for macrocycles, mesocycles and microcycles of training.
