Teaching Methodologies

Methodology:
– Analysis and discussion of the staging from theoretical texts (in the discipline dossier) and theater shows to be viewed (dvd and live shows).
– From creation and presentation of 1 staging exercise up to 15 minutes and its staging book.
The evaluation is exclusively continuous (100%) as set out in Art 13.5 – Academic Regulation of the 1st Cycle of Studies of ESEC and will be made throughout the sessions, based on the following criteria:
1. Work process from the design, rehearsals and artistic result of the presentation of a staging exercise (70%)
2. Project dossier of the exercise evaluated from the following parameters: presentation, research, deadlines, contents and bibliography. (30%)

Learning Results

The student should be able to:
1. Learn the different metodologies and phases in a process of theatrical direction
2. Be able to apply diffente phases of the process of theatrical direction, from the previous preparation to the rehearsals, choise of a theme/play to the techniques of rehearsals and actors directing.
3. Develop and aply relations between concepts of staging in rehearsals with principles of space, lighting, sound, costumes, actors direction, movement, video and voice.
4. Learn to devise e and carry a small project of staging, from the choice of theme, concept of direction, rehearsals and making the final presentation.

Program

2.THE DIRECTOR WORK BEFORE REHEARSALS
– The choice of the theme/text:investigation of the ideas and the concept of the show;
– Dramaturgy;
– The analysis of the text/theme, Structure of the dramatic axis, dividing the text into scenes and units;
– The work of investigation and creation of the characters;
– The stage concept: notions of autotship, autority ad style;
– The poetic of the stage space;
– Relation with lightting design, costumes, movement, video and voice;
– Organize and planification of the Project Director and preparing the rehearsals
THE DIRECTOR WORK IN THE REHEARSAL PROCESS
– Establishing the language of the process with the artistic team. Presentation and discussion of the stage concept of the project;
– Building the world of the play: from the text analisys,characters to the process of improvation;
– Relational work between the actors research and space design, costumes, lighting and sound design during rehearsals;
– Tec rehearsal to performance presentations.
