Teaching Methodologies

The teaching methodologies used can be divided into the following activities:
– theoretical-practical lectures in order to provide students with the concepts considered essential for learning and creative construction in the field.
– Analysis and discussion of best practices cases.
– Development and presentation of a innovative themed route project
– Tutorial guidance sessions aimed at monitoring and supervising the work developed by students.

Students can choose between Continuous Assessment and Final Examination. The assessment by examination consists in a written test (50%) and in a project (50%).
Continuous assessment is based on the following evaluation parameters:
a. individual test (40%);
b. itinerary project (50%);
c. participation and interest in the study cases discussed in class (10%).

Learning Results

This unit aims to develop skills to design and implement tourist itineraries based on sustainable development principles, guided by the following objectives:
• Identify different types of itineraries and the associated motivations.
• Recognize the importance of implementing thematic itineraries to boost tourism in the regions and the need for networking
• Identify the resources allocated to the design of tourist itineraries according to the thematic axis
• Analyze walking routes as a tool for valuing the territory
• Know the main planning stages in the design of thematic itineraries
• Identify the objectives of developing itineraries according to the characteristics of the territory in question
• Apply planning principles in the design of thematic itineraries
• Use means of information and promotion suitable for the development of itineraries
• Explore examples of good practices
