Teaching Methodologies

The practical classes will be based on group and individual exercises. The evaluation shall respect the provisions of the rules of procedure of the school of education, the curriculum unit will be assessed continuously or for final exam. Continuous evaluation: The evaluation process will be oriented with emphasis on following parameters:
-Autonomous work (30%): Elaboration of the translation of video on Portuguese Sign Language to Portuguese Language.
-Two frequencies (30%+30%=60%): divided by two moments of evaluation based on simultaneous interpreting of a video (LGP) to Portuguese.
-Participation in lessons and homework (10%) Assessment by examination: -Practical Exam based on simultaneous interpreting of a video (Portuguese Sign Language) to Portuguese oral (100%).

Learning Results

In the wake of the program syllabus Interpretation for voice I, this document follows the same guiding line that aims to allow students to contact with law No. 89/99 of 5 July, which defines the conditions of access to the profession of interpreter of Portuguese Sign Language, where they are referred to the functions and duties of an interpreter of Portuguese Sign Language. The objectives of the curricular unit are directly related to one of the professional goals profiles graduate of Portuguese Sign Language – interpreter of Portuguese Sign Language. So, with this curricular Unit aims: Practicing simultaneous interpretations consecutive regularly for eou voice, for all levels of speech; Give the finalists a bigger and better mastery of Portuguese sign language and oral Portuguese; Introduce concepts and binding methods of interpretation of the message of the video.

-Location of the action in space vs space parser
-Technique of the “Role Play”
-Practice and use of the grammatical rules of the Portuguese Sign Language
