Teaching Methodologies

Expository – presentation of theoretical content. Active – assets are privileged methods, participatory and experiential, including role-playing; analysis of situations or proposals submitted by students; learning by problem solving. Stalls practices emergency / urgency (demonstrative method). The decision to conduct formal evaluation through final examination or continuous assessment is individual student’s option. In continuous assessment, the following factors are considered: conducting a practice banking (25%); presentation of a working group (25%) and elaboration of a Performing an exam (50%). Evaluation by exam (100%) will be made through written and/or oral test .

Learning Results

1. Identify the principal geriatric emergency

2. Develop, coordinate and plan preventive measures for accidents in elderly

3. Learning to perfomed first aid to in different geriatric emergencies.

Program

. Integrated Medical Emercy Sistem (IMES)
• Approach to the victim
• First aid in: obstruction of the airway; bleeding; basic life support; trauma / fractures; medical diseases; overdosing and poisoning; wounds/ burns.
