Teaching Methodologies

The methodological options leading to the fulfillment of the curricular unit’s program will focus on three fundamental pedagogical components:

– Theoretical component – oral content-oriented presentation using multimedia resources;

– Practical component – practical exercises for exploring and consolidating the contents of the curricular unit;

– Theoretical-practical component – study and presentation of works/productions.

 

Learning Results

1 To know the basic principles of the discourse of animated image and animated graphic design.
2 Acquisition of theoretical knowledge related to the principles of motion design, its state of art, applicability, and supports.
3 Understand and apply the appropriate methodologies for the production of animated graphic design (motion design).
4 Develop practical skills oriented to the multidisciplinary edition of motion design: typographic elements; infographics; videography; and audio in a creative and aesthetic sense.

Program

1 INTRODUCTION TO THE DISCIPLINE, STATE OF ART AND PRECURSOR MOVEMENTS

1.1 Animation phenomena and principles of animation.

1.2 Theoretical contextualization of the history of animation and its authors.

1.3 Main precursors of motion design, the influence of animation in graphic design, and vice versa.

2 MOTION GRAPHICS IN CONTEMPORANEITY

2.1 Motion graphics- evolution of the discipline and the main authors.

2.2 Areas of action and main media.

3. PRACTICAL SKILLS

3.1 Graphic animation workshop practices: graphical, typographical and video composition.

3.2 Preparation and planning of motion design work (Pre-production): concept; narrative; storyboard; concept art; medias.

3.3 Development of motion design work (Production): capture and collection of media, edition of content; sound design; mixing media.

3.4 Finalization of motion design work (Post-Production): synchronization; special effects, color correction, rendering and broadcast media.
