Teaching Methodologies
The course will be taught in theoretical-practical classes, where the aim will be to present the topics and illustrate the content by discussing concrete situations and cases.
The inverted classroom and collaborative learning will also be promoted, where students will have the opportunity to present topics and share experiences.
The aim is for students to grasp the syllabus and acquire the skills defined.
Learning Results
Learning Objectives:
- To contextualize the research process in Social Sciences;
- To present the stages of the research process;
- To highlight the importance of the research problem and the selection of the topic, as well as the construction of the analysis model;
- To make students aware of the research activity, stressing the importance of a good literature review, the choice of the most appropriate methods and techniques for data collection and processing;
- To highlight the case study methodology in Management.
Skills to be acquired:
- Identifying research themes and problems
- Building an analysis model
- Developing a dissertation, project or internship plan

I – The research and writing process
1.1 Scientific writing and the formal rules of academic work
1.2 Structure of a dissertation / project work / internship report.
1.3 How to prepare a work proposal.
1.4 Computer tools to support research.
II – Ethics in research.
III – Relevant research topics in the field of accounting and public management, selected for seminars.
IV – The research process
4.1 Research process: choosing the topic, defining the problem, choosing the research strategy, reviewing the literature and applying the selected research method.
4.2 Research design: objective, research questions, identification of variables, formulation of the model and definition of hypotheses.
4.3 Data collection and processing: sample selection, data collection methods and data analysis.
4.4 Qualitative and quantitative methods
4.5. Presentation and interpretation of results.
