Impulso Jovens STEAM and Impulso Adultos

To Boost People and Territory

To Boost People and Territory project is an initiative of the Polytechnic University of Coimbra, aimed at formalising a consortium for the development of training programmes within the scope of the Impulso Jovens STEAM (Empowering Young People in STEAM) and Impulso Adultos (Empowering Adults) programmes, funded by the PRR – Recovery and Resilience Plan by the European Union. This project also aims to create a new multidisciplinary school focused on developing new short courses (micro-credentials and postgraduate courses) and offering CTeSP (Technical and Professional Higher Education Courses), developed in close proximity to the needs of partners in the territory. Whether for symbolic reasons or for the prospect of expanding training in conjunction with the business community, the allocation of the Casa do Bispo building to the project proved to be the most appropriate solution, reinforcing and affirming the IPC brand in the territory, while responding to the needs of the labour market and contributing to strengthening the qualification and competitiveness of the regional economy.

The project’s training offer was structured into five main areas:

Public Administration and Services;

Arts and Design;

Forestry, Environment and Agri-food;

Industry and Digital Technology;

Health, Ageing, Sport and Tourism;

This organisation, combined with institutional collaboration within the consortium, particularly with local councils and the Intermunicipal Community of the Coimbra Region, has consolidated and operationalised the project’s primary focus: People and Territory.
