Teaching Methodologies

Because of the theoretician-practical caracter of the curricular unit, expositive and active methodologies will be used in the presentation of the different contents, appealing to the autonomous, collaborative and cooperative work of the students.

 

The pupils who opt to the continuous/periodic assessment will be evaluated as follows:

Minuetto – 20%

Written work (analysis) – 20%

Piano Reduction – 20%

Orchestration of a music work originally composed for piano – 30%

Orchestration of a music work for a diferent  instrumentation – 30%

 

Assessment by exam:

Written exam – 100%

Learning Results

1. To understand and to use the musical codes.

2. To recognize the different historical periods and respective musical production.

3. To identify, select and adapt the music repertoire to specific musical groups.

4. To conceive vocal and instrumental arangements.

1. Composing for string quartet (continued)

        1.1 Composing minuets for string quartet.

2. Orchestration

         2.1 The instruments of the symphonic orchestra and their

                organization in the score

         2.2 The tutti in unison and in the octave

         2.3 Polyphonic texture

                 2.3.1 Main layer, medium layer and background layer

         2.4 Homophonic texture

                 2.4.1 Chord orchestration with different textures.

3. Reduction for piano of music works for chamber music or orchestra.

4. Orchestration of music works originally composed for piano.

5. Orchestration for different formations of music works from various eras

     and styles.
