Teaching Methodologies
The teaching methodology adopted is based on the exposition of the fundamental concepts and on the interrogative method to encourage the spirit of reflection. In addition, a strong practical component is expected that will play a relevant role in motivating students to read and interpret all studied cases.
Learning Results
The objectives of this course are to:
a) Qualify for the analysis and application of legal regulations in force within the framework of land cadastre and property registration law;
b) Know the concept and types of building (urban or rural) and understand the land publicity derived from the registry;
c) Recognize the importance of the multifunctional land cadastre as an indispensable tool for understanding the structure of land ownership, for the identification of its owners and for the territorial management system;
d) Provide training for the interpretation of land registry certificates and land cadastre information and for making land registration requests and cadastration acyivities;
e) Know and analyze procedures of the cadastral information system.

- The Cadastre and Land Registry:
a) Functions and effects of the Land Registry;
b) Registration organization;
c) Public faith and principles of registration law;
d) Land registration acts (registration, description and endorsements).
- Land Registry:
a) Legislative evolution;
b) Legal Regime of the Land Cadastre;
c) Cadastred and uncadastred land and buildings;
d) Coexistence of cadastre regimes;
e) Cadastration activity (holders, promoters, executors);
f) Cadastration operations: execution (simple and systematic), integration and conservation.
