Teaching Methodologies
Teaching methodologies range from ‘role playing’ of prospective professional work situations to extended reading of texts of the professional domain.
Learning Results
1. To read and understand different written texts in the field of Tourism; To identify the main topics approached in those texts; To understand technical vocabulary and organizes English-Portuguese glossaries; To infer meanings by context.
2. To write texts on the UC’s topics, using the English language rules; To improve description techniques; To write summaries for brochures; to use technical vocabulary.
3.To understands lectures, films and documentaries; To produce orally summaries and paraphrases; To fill-in worksheets.
4. To make oral presentations on Tourism topics; To organize programmes for visits and itineraries.
5. To use tourism related vocabulary in a a functional and pragmatic context (curriculum vitae, application letter, cover letter, formal letter, e-mail, flyers).

1.Reading comprehension of various written texts on tourism related topics: current trends; tourism destinations; tourism activities; hospitality services, food and drinks; sustainable tourism
2.Writing texts on the UC’s topics, using the English language rules
