Teaching Methodologies
In order to achieve the objectives of the curricular unit, the teaching methodologies are based on:
1. exposure by the teacher of contents related to the theoretical aspects of this curricular unit;
2. On oriented bibliographic research on some topics of interest;
3. In the execution of practical work laboratories related to the theme;
4. In the oral presentation and discussion of the final research product.
Learning Results
1) Introduction to the diversity of living organisms, namely the cellular structure and physiology, the mechanisms of heredity, and the bases for systematics. It is intended in this way that the student acquires skills on the various levels of biological organization of living beings.
2) Introduction to the fundamental theoretical concepts of Microbiology, and to the basic techniques of practical Microbiology. It is intended that the student knows the bases for the identification of microbial groups of greatest interest for the course.
Program
Chapter I:
1) Cytology and study methods;
2) Basis of the Systematics of living beings;
3) Comparative study of the ultrastructure and metabolism of prokaryotic and eukaryotic cells;
4) Heredity and evolution;
Chapter II:
5) Groups of microorganisms: viruses, bacteria, fungi, algae and protozoa: structure, classification and reproduction;
6) Methods in microbiology and microbial identification methods; Nutrition, growth and conditioning factors;
7) Applied microbiology. The role of microorganisms at various levels, namely in agroecosystems.
