Crop Protection II

Teaching Methodologies

To achieve the objectives of the course unit and the competences expected to the students, the teaching process is based on:

1. theoretical and practical lectures in which the teacher transmits theoretical concepts, followed by practical application by the student;

2. in classes held in the spring-summer season, in the crops where the student monitors the phenology, development of the enemy of the crops and
auxiliaries, as well as other operations that may have impact on plant health of the crop.

3. In classes where it is done the integration of data obtained and discussion on decision making.

Learning Results

To introduce the students to the problem of crop protection according to the criteria of Integrated Crop Protection and Production and Organic Farming.
1. Knows the main enemies of the main crops at national level;
2. Knows methodologies for risk estimation and its importance;
3. Knows the direct and indirect control measures and their application;
4. Knows, integrates the data and makes the decision in concrete situations.
