Postgraduate Course in Cardiovascular Perfusion

Course Objectives

The Postgraduate Course in Cardiovascular Perfusion aims to provide the Cardiopneumologist/Clinical Physiologist with professional skills that allow, at a specialized level, to implement and monitor clinical and therapeutic interventions related to Cardiovascular Perfusion inside and outside the Cardiac Surgery Operating Room in response to needs specific to cardiopulmonary and cardiovascular patients, and in accordance with the evidence-based and person-centered practice model.
The knowledge, skills and abilities, and attitudes and behaviors to be acquired are aligned with the Cardiopneumologist competency framework and in accordance with the requirements of the European Board of Cardiovascular Perfusion (EBCP).
Guided by an effective clinical reasoning process, the Cardiopneumologist/Perfusionist is recognized as a specialist in the cardiovascular and pulmonary systems and is also recognized as the central healthcare professional in the context of cardiothoracic, vascular and intensive care surgery within the scope of ECMO. This Postgraduate course aims to contribute to obtaining increased skills in the Perfusionist’s clinical practice in the intra and extra operating room context.

Access Conditions

Graduates in Cardiopneumology and/or Clinical Physiology, or legal equivalent, may apply for enrollment and registration.
