Teaching Methodologies

The following teaching methodologies are used in this curricular unit:
1. Verbal methods (say), making use of the educational resources: Demo, Explanation, Dialogue, and Questioning.
2. Intuitive methods (show), making use of the educational resources: Demo, Audiovisual, and written texts.

Learning Results

The goals of this course are:
1. Acquire skills to apply various techniques in order to get results that enable the support of decision making.
2. Give appropriate training for future studies/specialized work in the field of Operational Research.
3. Develop the capacity for abstraction, intuition, critical thinking and interdisciplinary/integrated reasoning ability.

Characterization of distributions of arrival and service: negative exponential distribution and Poisson distribution
Birth and Death Processes
Fundamental Relations
Classification of queues
Models based on the process of birth and death
3. Project Management
Introduction
Construction of the project network
Methods of project planning
