Bachelor in Marketing

Course Objectives

– Provide training to develop and deepen the knowledge obtained at the level of secondary education in marketing, supported by teaching materials for advanced level, providing in some domains cutting-edge knowledge;
– Encourage the application of acquired knowledge and skills in marketing, demonstrating a professional approach to work in this area;
– Allow problem solving in marketing, with appropriate and reasoned arguments;
– Provide the ability to take and process relevant information to base judgments and solutions built in a multidimensional logic, considering social, scientific, and ethical dimensions;
– Foster the ability to communicate clearly and unambiguously to different audiences;
– Develop the skills to learning throughout life, with a high degree of autonomy.

Access Conditions

Entrance exams (one of the following sets): 04 Economics 25% + 17 Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences 25% or 04 Economics 30% + 18 Portuguese 20% or 17 Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences 30% + 18 Portuguese 20%; Minimum classification: Application grade: 95 points; Entrance exams: 95 points. Calculation formula: Secondary school average: 50% Entrance exams: 50%. Seriation prerequisites – Not applicable; Regional preference (area of influence): Coimbra, Guarda and Viseu; percentage of places: 20%; Housing preference: 10%.

Given the general objectives of the study cycle, the curriculum structure and syllabus of the course were designed to give the Marketing graduate the following knowledge, skills, and competences:
– Have a broad base of knowledge in the area of management, in general, and in the area of marketing, in particular, going beyond those obtained at the secondary education level;
– Apply knowledge and skills acquired in solving problems in their area of intervention, demonstrating a professional approach and developing appropriate solutions based on appropriate arguments;

Access to Superior Studies

The bachelor’s degree allows access to the 2nd cycle of studies leading to the master’s degree.
