Course Objectives
Train specialist technicians in Ecotourism capable of working individually or in multidisciplinary teams and with the following general skills: idealize, design and implement projects of tourist activities, with respect for the basic principles of Ecotourism: respect for the culture and values of local populations, preservation and conservation nature and built landscapes.
Access Conditions
a) Holders of a bachelor’s degree, or legal equivalent, of courses in the areas of Tourism, Agrarian, Social, Environmental and Natural Sciences or similar areas;
b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in one of the areas referred to in a), or legal equivalent, conferred as a sequence of a 1st cycle of studies organized according to the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process; c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, in the areas referred to in a), which is recognized by the Technical-Scientific Council as meeting the objectives of the Bachelor’s degree;
d) Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum, which is recognized as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies by the Technical-Scientific Council.

Learning Objectives
At the end of the training, the graduate will have acquired the skills to:
– Promote the education and environmental awareness of tourists; find solutions in order to minimize the negative impacts that result from traditional tourist activities; develop processes of complementarity between traditional tourism practices and emerging forms of tourism; apply to the studies and projects of tourist activities the principles of sustainability, namely in economic, social and environmental terms; develop new sustainable tourism products according to endogenous resources and with benefits for local agents; develop communication processes with tourists, according to their characteristics, motivations and surrounding contexts, in order to pursue environmental education objectives and interpretation of the cultural values of the populations involved; develop activities of animation and active tourism; manage leisure spaces and tourist units in rural and natural spaces.
Access to Superior Studies
Holders of a Master’s degree in Ecotourism will be able to apply for a higher PhD study level.
