Postgraduate Degree in Drama and Artistic Participation

Course Objectives

The postgraduate course in Theater and Artistic Participation at the Escola Superior de Educação de Coimbra has the following general objectives:

To train qualified professionals in theatrical practices, focusing on theatrical intervention actions in their multiple possibilities.

The program invests in the ways in which theatrical agents can constitute themselves as facilitators of transformation and change in certain intervention contexts through a set of theatrical practices that serve as mediation for work with, for and in the community, and that allow questioning the relationship between theater and social themes, through its multiple possibilities for action.

Access Conditions

a) Holders of a bachelor’s degree or legal equivalent;

b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree awarded following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process;

c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized as meeting the objectives of the degree by the ESEC Technical-Scientific Council;

d) Holders of an academic, scientific or professional curriculum, which is recognized as attesting the ability to attend this cycle of studies by the ESEC Technical-Scientific Council.

Learning Objectives

This training aims to generate qualified professionals, with skills in:

– conceiving and executing, in terms of production, education, research and intervention, theater projects that encourage active participation at community level;

– act as cultural mediators and interveners in the action territories; encourage the dynamization of theatrical artistic practice as an axis of community life and public space.
