Course Objectives
To train professionals to work in the field of Nature Tourism and Tourism in Rural Areas, contributing to the development of this area in Portugal and meeting the National Strategic Tourism Plan, whose subordinate studies
diagnosed deficiencies of incorporation of know-how in the companies of the specialty. The degree is designed to provide superior training in the wide range of scientific knowledge that crosses this area of knowledge. In fact, the interdisciplinary skills required for the exploration of Nature Tourism and Tourism in Rural and Natural Areas require knowledge in biology and ecology, the ability to express in different languages and modes of
communication, necessary for the interpretation of heritage, as well as marketing and provision of tourism services
in rural and natural spaces.
Access Conditions
General access regime: one of the following exams 02 Biology and Geology; 09 Geography; 16 Mathematics
Transfer, examination for older than 23 years, holders of diplomas of Technological Specialization Course, holders of a diploma of Technical Higher Vocational Course

Learning Objectives
To know the facts, principles, theories and practices related to the area of nature tourism and tourism in rural areas: the natural, abiotic and biotic environment, in Portugal; the rural environment; the tourism products in rural
and natural space.
To be able to apply the knowledge and resources acquired to complete tasks and solve problems in the field of nature tourism and in rural and natural space: identify, analyze and handle in a sustainable way the natural values with tourist attractiveness; to be able to communicate correctly with the interlocutors; to know how to contextualize the cultural heritage associated with rural and natural spaces.
To use personal, social and / or methodological knowledge, skills and abilities in professional situations and for the purposes of professional and personal development, integrating in the rural and natural tourism management the summary of the interdisciplinary competences acquired in the degree.
Access to Superior Studies
The bachelor’s degree allows the access to graduate degrees, namely to the 2nd cycle of studies leading to the Master’s degree.
