Teaching Methodologies
In this curricular unit, only the internship reports are evaluated, and no evaluation is carried out by the internship monitor.
The final grade, obtained in the Internship I curricular unit, is subject to a minimum classification of 10 points, and in each of the components, a classification below 9.5 cannot exist.
The evaluation is carried out by the Internship Committee and comprises the following components: individual report (75%) and report defense (25%).
The Internship I curricular unit is not subject to examination.
Learning Results
The student must acquire knowledge
– Acquire knowledge of the way in which all modalities in the area of Environmental Health work, including the organization and functioning of the various services and activities.
The student must acquire skills to:
– Recognize the role of the Environmental health professional in programs and projects to promote health, safety and education for sustainability
– Recognize the importance of the Environmental Health professional as responsible for the implementation and monitoring of prevention and control measures to eliminate or minimize risks, namely with regard to the control of the means and agents of disease transmission, environmental impacts, safety and health of the workers and food safety
The student must acquire competences to:
– Recognize the role of the Graduate in Environmental Health as a professional in the area
– Recognize the procedures and practices of the various modalities of Environmental Health
Program
Systematic observation and measurement, with a view to identifying, preventing and correcting health risk factors
– Participate in the planning and implementation of health education and environmental education actions aimed at specific groups, at risk or the community in general
– Observe the technical coordination of occupational safety and hygiene activities, ensuring the framework and technical guidance of professionals in the area of occupational safety and hygiene
– Initial contact with the development of professional risk assessment processes
– Observe the design, programming and development of prevention and protection measures in the workplace
– Check compliance with legislation applicable to the Environmental Health area
– Observe professional practice in the field of Environmental Health
