Intership II

Teaching Methodologies

The internship will be guided by professionals in the field, in the field, who collaborate with the ESTeSC-IPC and with the Degree in Environmental Health. Students should apply the theoretical, theoretical-practical and practical knowledge, skills and competences acquired throughout the course, using scientific terminology in a professional environment.
The final score, obtained in the Internship II, is subject to a minimum classification of 10 values, and each component cannot have a classification of less than 10 values.
The assessment is obtained as follows:
– Average weighted as a function of time in each module and the grade given by the internship monitors (75%)
– Delivery and defense of internship reports, evaluated by the Internship Committee (25%)

Learning Results

Knowledge:
– Acquire practical knowledge of all modalities in the field of Environmental Health, understanding the activities in a real context
– Know the legal references, regulations and guidelines in the field of public health, environment and safety and health at work
Skills:
– Select, interpret and apply legal requirements, normative or technical-scientific principles in different areas of intervention
– Plan, develop, monitor and evaluate plans, programs and projects to promote health, safety and education for sustainability
– Define, implement and monitor prevention and control measures to eliminate or minimize risks
Competences:
– Act in accordance with legislation, standards and codes of good practice
– Demonstrate technical-scientific capacity applied to problem solving within the intervention areas
– Demonstrate professional autonomy by exercising their professional skills with technical rigor and proactively

Program

– Collaborate in health surveillance actions and monitoring of biophysical environmental factors through systematic observation and measurement actions, with a view to identifying, preventing and correcting risk factors for health
– Contribute to the planning and implementation of health education and environmental education actions aimed at specific groups, at risk or the community in general
– Collaborate in the promotion of training/information for workers and other stakeholders in the workplace
– Collaborate in the technical coordination of safety and health activities at work, ensuring the framework and technical guidance of professionals
– Collaborate in the development of professional risk assessment processes and contribute to the design, programming and development of prevention and protection measures in the workplace
– Analyze professional practice in the field of Environmental Health and participate in its development
