Learning Results
The main objective of this CU is to provide an adequate knowledge and understanding of the content of
IAS/IFRS and its practical application, allowing at the same time continuing the training received in the degree,
meet the growing demands placed on auditors and satisfy market needs in having professionals (auditors) with
greater expertise in accounting matters. Is given special emphasis to accounting alternatives allowed by
IAS/IFRS and valuation rules contained in the standards.
Students should acquire the following skills:
1. Understanding the structure of the standards, objectives and who should apply them; 2. Knowing properly
treatment to different accounting events according with IAS / IFRS;
3. Understanding the differences from the national standards, so students can implement or guide the
implementation in an entity that does not apply international standards yet;
4. Understanding and having a critical judgment over financial reporting.

III. Income and expenses.

2. Employee benefits and share-based payments to employees.
IV. Nonfinancial assets and liabilities.
1. Inventories.
2. Property, plant and equipment and intangible assets, borrowing costs, government grants and impairment of
assets.
3. Investment property.
4. Provisions, contingent liabilities and contingent assets.
5. Income taxes.
V. Financial instruments
1. Measurement and recognition of most common financial instruments
