Learning Results
The non-teaching curricular unit of the dissertation aims to integrate the knowledge
obtained in the Masters and the transition of students to the labor market or 3rd cycle
(doctoral).
The works are supervised by a Supervisor and may involve one or more Co-advisors.
What characterizes the dissertation today is the effort, describing the “state of the art” in
a clear and complete way, to advance knowledge in this area. So, its merits will be:
a) Knowledge – tending to be complete (including the necessary references to underlying
theoretical issues and transdisciplinary and comparative perspectives) – of the tradition
and current situation of the issue taken as an object of study;
b) The capacity for problematization and advanced reflection on this issue;
c) The capacity for originality or innovation revealed in its treatment
