Teaching Methodologies
The planned teaching methodologies include expository and inquisitive dynamics, as well as problem solving, individually or in groups.
The applied aspect will be developed through visits and practical exercises to analyze public spaces (and the consequent presentation of
qualification proposals), as well as the presentation of practical cases by professionals linked to the issues in question (both in public
administration and private companies).
Learning Results
– Identify the public equipments and infrastructures that support urban life and recognize their interdependence
– Know the requirements for implementing infrastructures, particularly at a technical level
– Carry out basic operations related to the operational planning of public equipments in terms of matching demand and supply
– Recognize the importance of urban green infrastructure and know its components
– Critically analyze public spaces in terms of their use, accessibility, comfort and sociability articulate intervention proposals for their
improvement.
Program
– Concept and typologies; Equipment planning: strategic vs. operational approach; Operational planning of collective equipment: evolution
of supply vs. intervention at supply level.
2. Urban infrastructures
– Types and classification, matrix of interdependencies; Implementation of FI networks (approaches, technical requirements and articulation,
standard profiles of FI underground, trenching); Impact and visual integration of support facilities; Urban green infrastructure; Sustainability
of urban infrastructure; Management (d)and maintenance of urban FI. The potential of GIS.
3. Urban public spaces as places of access to services and equipments
