Teaching Methodologies

Contact times will include:
(i) sessions in the form of thematic seminars, organized by specific multidisciplinary content; the sessions will be led by teachers from the
various areas and by invited specialists, and will take place at the beginning of the academic term.
(ii) tutorial sessions/classes, (after the seminars or partially interspersed), where individual learning skills and the ability, organization and
development of studies or projects will be explored; these sessions will be taught by teachers from the respective subject areas;
(iii) public sessions for the presentation and discussion of each student’s work at the end of the term;
(iv) a 4-week internship, to take place at the end of the academic term, in companies/institutions carrying out work related to the course
theme, potentially acting as a setting for the development of the project designed by the student;
(v) participation in an international project related to sustainability in an urban environment, of the BIP-Blended Intensive Program type, or
other.

Learning Results

– To learn about complementary subjects that cut across the different areas, related to the sustainable management of cities, including
innovations and the respective procedures and rules for implementation or application.
– To deepen knowledge of specific content in one of the training areas of the course, through the development of a study/project.
– Provide specialized technological experience and develop critical thinking skills.
– Design and develop a project.

Program

1. Specialized complementary technological knowledge, addressed in the form of multidisciplinary thematic seminars, focused on the
management and rehabilitation of cities, and covering the areas of knowledge of the course.
2. Development of a specific study or project, in a training area of the course, with supervision in classes/tutorial sessions, carried out by
teachers: (i) constitution and phases of a study or project; (ii) selection and approach to the topic; (iii) organization and development of the
work.
3. Presentation and discussion of the study or project in public sessions.
4. Possibility of participating in a 4-week internship.
5. Possibility of participating in international projects.
