Master in Crops and Livestock Engineering

Course Objectives

Provide knowledge of advanced methodologies in the field of agricultural engineering, enhancing the professional practice in agriculture, with the ability to design, plan, implement, manage and provide technical support to the farmer, within a framework informed of evolution and environmental impact, resource limitation increasing food security needs. Provide skills to perform business functions in agricultural fields, technical and scientific capacity in innovative resolution of problems inherent to the primary sector and ability to design production systems implemented with environmentally friendly technologies.

The course is organized in 4 semesters. The first two include a teaching component with 6 curricular units per semester and the last two are dedicated to a training/ vocational internship

Access Conditions

a) Holders of the degree of licentiate (Bachelor’s degree), or legal equivalent, of courses in the areas of Agrarian Sciences, Natural Sciences or related areas;
b) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in one of the areas referred to in a), or legal equivalent, conferred as a sequence of a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this Process;
c) Holders of a foreign higher academic degree, in the areas referred to in a), which is recognized by the Technical-Scientific Council as meeting the objectives of the licenciado degree;
d) Holders of a school, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized as attesting to the capacity of the Technical-Scientific Council to carry out this cycle of studies. This can include students who have not yet completed the cycle of studies leading to a degree, provided that they meet the requirements for the degree by the end of the special exam season

Learning Objectives

The course has specific aims to provide to the graduates:
   Competence in the execution of business functions in agricultural and livestock areas?
   Technical and scientific capacity in innovative way of problem solving inherent to the primary sector?
   Ability to design production systems implemented with environmentally friendly technologies.

The student will be thus enabled to exert a wide spectrum of activities ranging from direct support to the farmer, till the integration of multidisciplinary teams of technical consultants for design, implementation and project management at a regional and national or even international level

Access to Superior Studies

Holders of a Marter’s degree in Crops and Livestock Engineering may apply for a higher PhD study level
