Course Objectives
Sustainability is progressively at the forefront of societal concerns. Targeted at the deployment of sustainable paths, the Master degree on Sustainable Development (MSD) presents a flexible approach capable of developing competences across a wide range of strategic sectors through the implementation of integrated and transversal strategies. The MSD brings together cutting-edge tools to evaluate sustainable solutions and the technical background to develop innovative, inclusive and integrated solutions at the myriad of intervention scales and sectorial dimensions to foster sustainability. MSD will also focus on educational and behavior dimensions given their role in attaining a more sustainable society.
MSD will develop Master Students’ competences needed to play a significant role in the design and implementation of sustainable development strategies and actions across several strategic sectors
Access Conditions
1. Holders of a bachelors degree or legal equivalent in the area of Agricultural, Biological, Natural or other Sciences;
2. Holders of a foreign higher academic degree in one of the areas referred to in point 1, conferred following a 1st cycle of studies organized in accordance with the principles of the Bologna Process by a State adhering to this process;
3. Holders of a foreign higher academic degree that is recognized by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESAC as meeting the objectives of the Bachelor’s degree;
4. Holders of a educational, scientific or professional curriculum that is recognized by the Technical-Scientific Council of ESAC as attesting the capacity to carry out this cycle of studies.

Learning Objectives
The MSc holders acquire competences to apply knowledge to new problems, in multidisciplinary contexts, integrate knowledge, develop communication skills and foster individual autonomous learning throughout the life span, in accordance with the DL74/2006 after the revision enforced by the DL65/2018. They acquire the ability of promoting sustainable development through a lower carbon path by developing environmentally friendly technologies. They also acquire problem analysis and solving skills, the ability to design successfully problem mitigation strategies and actions, while finding appropriate sources of funding and developing advanced communication and educational skills. Furthermore, they will be deeply embedded in the productive matrix being expected to play a relevant role by involving the relevant stakeholders.
