DGES Scholarship

This grant is awarded by the State, on a non-refundable basis, whenever the family household of which the student is a member does not have an adequate minimum level of financial resources and under the conditions set out in the Regulations.

The application, through a request, is submitted exclusively online, through the BeOn platform, accessible through the website of the Directorate-General for Higher Education.

Transitional Rules of Legislation within COVID – 19

The Regulation also provides for a set of transitional rules that adapt its application to the pandemic situation that occured at the end of the academic year 2019-2020, both in terms of obstacles that may have arisen to the students’ attendance and assessment, and in terms of the revision of the grant amount awarded, whenever there is a change in the household income in the scope of COVID-19; in this context, an extraordinary revision mechanism is established, upon request, whenever the recalculation proves to be more favourable to the
grant recipient student. (articles 64-A and 64-B of the Regulation)
