Bachelor in Accounting and Administration

Course Objectives

The fundamental objective of this degree is to train professionals who combine the mastery of management methods and techniques with a solid training in accounting and management of the organizations, so that they can develop a professional career in particular in private companies and public organisms, being the respective curricular structure organized in this sense. It is also intended to enable trainees to develop various social skills and attitudes, such as oral and written communication skills, teamwork and social responsibility. It is also intended that graduates be able to equate issues whose complexity requires a multidimensional and interdisciplinary approach, such as defining and implementing projects focused on the resources of organizations. Graduates who obtain and demonstrate leadership skills may achieve positions in the management of private or public enterprises as well as promote the creation of their own employment.

Calculation formula: Secondary school average: 50% Entrance exams: 50% Entrance exams (one of the following sets): 04 Economics (25%) + 17 Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences (25%) or 04 Economics (30%) + 18 Portuguese (20%) or 17 Mathematics Applied to Social Sciences (30%) + 18 Portuguese (20%) Minimum grade: Application score: 95 points Entrance exams: 95 points Seriation prerequisites – Not applicable. Regional preference (area of influence): Coimbra, Guarda, Viseu, percentage of places: 20%. Housing preference: 10%

Learning Objectives

Taking into account the general objectives of the degree, it is possible to identify the following competences acquired as a result of learning, namely:
   Conduct global and systematized analysis of organizational events using multidisciplinary knowledge;
   Plan, organize, execute and coordinate the execution of financial accounting, complying with tax obligations and culminating in the preparation of mandatory financial statements;
   Organize internal control and management accounting systems;
   Participate in the budgetary procedure and its control;
   Prepare and analyze economic and financial information;
   Prepare, analyze and manage tax information;
   Implement and monitor performance evaluation systems;
   Collaborate in the different management processes, in the different types of entities.
